One way to find Gods will is to be observant. Signposts are on the road to guide us to a particular destination. We realize we are getting closer to our destination when we
observe some mile markers along the way. If we are driving to Seattle…you will see signs of Oregon …..Yakima,…. Prosser….Auburn, you know you are getting closer. The converse is true as well. If the signpost says Salt Lake City 100 miles, you know you are not getting close to Seattle. God uses our spirit as sign posts for us to follow. God, through the Holy Spirit spoke to Paul in Acts 20:18-21. How was Paul so sure that he should leave Ephesus……? It is easy to be inspired with Heavenly Inspiration, but then hesitate, and even be tempted, before we reach the celebration experience of doing God’s will. Let’s look at all these sign posts. Inspiration ( can come in the form of a thought from God) – Paul said, I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem…. This could have been for Paul, a nudge…an intuition…a knowing….a stir. God can speak to us in a similar way. Never can this be outside of the first 2 boundaries of God’s sovereign and moral will. A good analogy is a can of pop. The bubbles are the Holy Spirit inside you. Sometimes we need to be shaken up (get out of our comfort-zone) to put ourselves in a position to hear from God. For sure…get out of your comfort zone. Going flat happens, dry times happen, but don’t stay that way, stir yourself up. You won’t always…in fact most of the time…you won’t know all the steps. Probably we will just know the next one. Stir yourself up and get ready to make the next step. You can walk in God’s will for your life.
