Storms come to everyone. Perhaps you feel like you have been living in the shadow like it says in Hosea 14:4-9. Can we stand after the storm has passed? If we are standing strong, we know we are built on a firm foundation. We can persevere under trail, because the trying of our faith works patience (James 1:2,3) We remain in joy and don’t give up or faint before the harvest comes. (Gal 6:9) We can have peace in the midst of the storm. I hope you remember that God doesn’t give the trial, He gets us through them! He will never leave us or forsake us. (Heb 13:5,6) It is our enemy who comes to steal, kill and destroy. (John 10:10) Jesus is the one who comes to give life abundantly. God’s character is revealed in Jesus who went about doing good, and healing all who were oppressed by the devil. God can turn any situation around for good. (Rom 8:28, In Gen 45 Joseph says what was meant for evil, God has turned for his good) Even an out and out attack from the enemy can be turned around, and God can get the glory. Bad things do happen to good people. We live in this world’s system and satan is the god of this world. (II Cor 4:4) Our earth has a curse. Sin is in the system, because of the fall of man. Sickness entered when sin entered. From the manger to the cross, Jesus not only gave us salvation, but He bore our sicknesses as well. (Is 53:4) We can rise above the world’s system when we walk in love, remain under the protective covering of God’s blessings, use our faith, speak the name of Jesus, wear our armor, use our authority to rule and subdue, pray the promises, pray in the spirit, and keep our flesh under. Our prayers are powerful and circumstances do change when we pray. (James 5:16) God is a good God, and His desire is that we prosper and be in health, even as our soul (mind, will and emotions) prospers. (III John 2) Our mind needs to be renewed to the Word of God, and then we can prosper in spirit, soul and body. (Romans 12:2,3) As we are transformed into His image, we will be able to experience all of God’s perfect peace!
