Sunday Dec 6 Love Personified

Intro
Thank you for reading your dailyeward Advent devotional during this holiday season. This week is all about the LOVE God has for us. We believe that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him would not perish but have everlasting life. It was love that sent Jesus to the earth as a baby, and love that sent Jesus to the cross, so that we could experience life eternal. God’s love to us is our greatest example of how we should love others. Here is your dailyeword.

We believe that God came to be with us. Everyone longs to know that they have someone who will never leave them, disown them, or desert them. Jesus came as Emmanuel, which means, God dwells with us. Jesus came as love personified. God is love, and he who abides in love, abides in God, and God in him. (I John 4:16) The God of love has come to never leave us, and to abide with us in love. We believe that love is the greatest of all (I Cor. 13:8). We should be love to the world. One thing love does is cover – love is like the snow. The beauty of snow is in what it covers up. Everything can be dry and brown underneath, but put a blanket of snow over the top, and everything looks beautiful. That is just like love. We can bring beauty all around us when we cover other’s mistakes and when we extend grace to others. When we make an effort to cover everything in love, just like a fresh dusting of snow, beauty emerges. God demonstrates His love to us in unique ways, just like the uniqueness of each snowflake… what could be more unique than a royal King born in a manger? When each of us, like individual snowflakes begin to manifest the love of God, the beautiful body of Christ can be revealed. And, when each member loves like Jesus, we can envision the purity of fresh fallen snow, covering ugliness and bringing loveliness to this earth. Love has come; it is Christmas. We Believe! He will never leave us, and His love lives inside of us. We are loved with the purest, most abiding love available – God’s love. Let us always demonstrate His love to others – throughout Christmas, and all through the year.

Winter Snow by Audrey Assad
Verse 1
You could’ve come like a mighty storm
With all the strength of a hurricane
You could’ve come like a forest fire
With the power of heaven in Your flame

Chorus 1
But You came like a winter snow
Quiet and soft and slow
Falling from the sky in the night
To the earth below

Verse 2
You could’ve swept in like a tidal wave
Or in an ocean to ravish our hearts
You could’ve come through like a roaring flood
To wipe away the things we’ve scarred

Chorus 2
Oh, oh but You came like a winter snow
You were quiet, You were soft and slow
Falling from the sky in the night
To the earth below

Bridge
Ooh no, Your voice wasn’t in a bush burning
No, Your voice wasn’t in a rushing wind
It was still it was small it was hidden

Chorus 3
Oh, You came like a winter snow
Quiet and soft and slow
Falling from the sky in the night
To the earth below

Ending
Oh yeah
You came falling from the sky in the night
To the earth below
