Saturday Dec 26 – Give Some Joy Away

We know that the manger in Bethlehem cradled a King, but who would the world think He was? Would His humble beginning result in anything great? It’s kind of comical to ask that question now, when we know that the Baby born in a manger changed history forever, including how we measure time! Good things really do come in small packages! So what did we receive when we received this little Baby? When we chose to believe on Jesus and ask Him to be our Lord and Savior, He gave us the ability to know God and He made it so that we can have life eternal and live forever in heaven when we die, and experience joy unspeakable. So this little tiny “package” gave us more than we could have ever hoped or dreamed of. He also gave us power to be a witness to those around us. During the Christmas season, as everyone concentrates on getting, why not consider what you can give. Is there someone you know who might need something that you could buy, or might even already own? Why not find a way to be a blessing. Jesus came to the earth to be a blessing to us, and in Genesis 12:2 the Bible tells us that we are blessed to be a blessing. We shouldn’t just think about ourselves, but we should think about others, and how we can serve, help, give or bless someone. What an awesome way to show the love of Jesus this Christmas.

Good Christian Men Rejoice by John Mason Neale

Verse 1
Good Christian men rejoice
With heart and soul and voice
Give ye heed to what we say
News, news Jesus Christ is born today
Ox and ass before Him bow
And He is in the manger now
Christ is born today
Christ is born today

Verse 2
Good Christian men rejoice
With heart and soul and voice
Now ye hear of endless bliss
Joy, joy Jesus Christ was born for this
He has opened heaven’s door
And man is blessed evermore
Christ was born for this
Christ was born for this

Verse 3
Good Christian men rejoice
With heart and soul and voice
Now ye need not fear the grave
Peace, peace Jesus Christ was born to save
Calls you one and calls you all
To gain His everlasting hall
Christ was born to save
Christ was born to save
