Set the Standard of Peace

Be a peacekeeper. Did you know that’s what we are as believers? We are called to keep peace! The Bible tells us repeatedly to seek peace and to pursue it. We are called the salt of the earth, and one of the things salt does is preserve things. We are a preservative in this world’s system. When everyone else is in turmoil, unset, or living in chaos, we are the ones who set the standard of peace. We know a soft answer turns away wrath. We know that we don’t have to have the last word. We know that we don’t always have to state our opinion, when we know it will bring a conflicting view. We do know that we can raise the standard of righteousness by how we respond and react in any situation. We don’t fight fire with fire! We are called to bring peace, and because the Prince of Peace has come, we get to bring his message and live his message everywhere we go. So why not bring a higher level of peace to each situation you enter. Remember what Jesus came to do. He came to bring peace on earth. He brought joy to the whole world, and came as the prince of peace. Let him reign in your heart and life. You are called to peace! Let’s believe for MORE Peace in your life, and the ability to be a peace keeper in your relationships and in situations that you encounter, today

God’s Peace is Yours!

Phil 4:7 says that God’s peace shall be yours! That tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace, which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount a guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. (That’s from the Message Bible) How can we experience that tranquil state of soul, that peace that passes understanding in a world that is stressed out? One of the best things to do, anytime, is to speak peace to your soul. Jesus spoke to the storm, and He speaks peace to us through His Word. We can remind ourselves of his words and speak peace to our inner man, to silence the turmoil, or even the feeling that things are out of control. Doesn’t it do your heart good to know that everything is going to be ok? Sometimes we need to remind ourselves of that fact. God is our provider, protector and promoter. He is taking care of us. We know that even if the enemy attacks us, what the devil intends for evil, God can still turn it around for our good. So say to yourself, soul, be still. Speak peace to your inner man, and live fearlessly and victoriously. God has a great plan for your life and it is full of the peace that only he can give. That is how we can live in the MORE that God has for us.

Peace is Resting in God

How dependent are you on God for everything? We all know that God can transform your life, but do we really give Him the opportunity to do that? Hi, this is Dorette Schaal with an encouraging word for your day. Let’s depend on the Spirit of God fully, 24/7/365 days of this year by being fully immersed in the Word of God, and living fully in tune with the Holy Spirit. Do you know that God wants us to thrive in every area of life? Why not start today believing that you are Designed to Thrive. I encourage you go for it, and live the life that God has for you. Here is your dailyeword. This week I’m talking about the peace of God, which is not only an attitude of the heart, it is the only way to live!

In John 14:27, Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you, not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” He was speaking of the Holy Spirit who was soon to come. He sent the Holy Spirit as the comforter so we could have peace even in the midst of stress, strain, irritation or uncertainty. In the world you shall have tribulation (we live in a fallen world where there will be persecution), but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. (John 16:33) Peace is the result of resting in God. Rest is what restores our physical bodies, and peace is what restores our spirits. Rest and Peace are often foreign to us. Busy is what we’re all too good at. Rest is what we need to be good at! My good friend once said, busy isn’t of the devil, it is the devil! I’m not sure if that was original or not, but true none the less. Often when I ask anyone how they are, their answer is “busy”. Wouldn’t it be great to answer the question of – How are you? with I’m peaceful, tranquil, and totally rested. For believers, we should live there! Life shouldn’t be a busy irritation, it should be peaceful, rest-filled, and restoring to our souls. How do we get there in the midst of the daily hassles we must deal with? Peace comes when we choose love over hate, joy over frustration, patience over irritability, kindness over meanness, goodness over revenge, faithfulness over manipulation, gentleness over harshness, and self-control over indulgence. Peace is the result! Peace is what we want in our homes, for our communities, for our nation and for the world.

Speak What God Says

I tknw there are times when you think you did something stupid, but that doesn’t make you a stupid person. We have all probably thought that about ourselves, and maybe even said that about yourself. It is really important to realize that just because you have said or done something stupid doesn’t make that our identity. Just because you messed up in some area, doesn’t make your whole life a mess up. Our true identity is who we are in Christ. I hope yo are beginning to see that our thought life leads to what we say with our words. The next step in the progressions is actions. You have heard this saying, your thoughts lead to words, your words lead to actions, your actions lead to behavior, your behavior leads to character, and your character will guide you to your destiny. Awesome!!! Thank you AGF ladies and men who volunteered to make Rejoice 2013 the best ever! Thank you to all of the ladies who attended, and thank you April Simons for coming to Idaho! We are Designed to THRIVE!

Who are You in Christ?

God has made you:

More than a conqueror, to live above circumstances, to live above your emotions, to be a minister of reconciliation, to have peace in the midst of any storm, to be His hands and feet to a hurting world.  He made you to be a blessing to others in your world.  When we think about the ways God wants to use us, it is no wonder He has give us so many tools to make it possible  We are give His Word, His Spirit, His name, the power of binding and loosing, His peace, His joy, and His strength, just to name a few.  We are designed and destined to THRIVE!  So who do you say God is?  HE is everything you will ever need and more than enough for every are of your life.

Not ruled by emotions or circumstances!

In our current worlds system, there is lots of room for fear and dread. When the economy takes a plunge, it affects everyone, even believers. What is cool for believers, is that we can have an understanding that we don’t have to let our natural circumstances or our emotions rule us. We are spirit led, and spirit controlled, and we serve an amazing God, who in the midst of turmoil finds a way to protect, provide and often even promote his people. A perfect example is that of Joseph after he survived the worst possible treatment from his family, he rose to have authority in the land during a time of famine.God took what was planned for evil and turned it around. Today is day 2 of our ladies conference Rejoice 2013. It’s not too late to join us. Hope to see you there!

Rejoice with Us This Weekend

Tonight starts Rejoice 2013, hope to see you there! Today we are going to look at another scripture about who we are in Christ. It is amazing to think that God’s Word is so full of how God thinks about us. His desires, plans and purposes for us are established in us as we read them, think on them, meditate on them, and then speak them forth. III John 2 says, Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers. our identity in Christ is tied to what is happening in our soul. Our soul is our mind, will and emotions, where our thought life is found. If we want prosperity in our soul, we need to be prospering in the Word, reading it, believing it, living it!. If we want to thrive and flourish, we must make the Word of God center in our life. The word prosperity has been given a bad name in Christian circles, but it is a good thing! We want our businesses to prosper. We want our kids to prosper in their vocations. Prosperity in its proper perspective is all about biblical success, which also could be called thriving! So for our physical body and our bank accounts to be successful, our soul needs to be successful. You can thrive in LIFE!

Who Are You?

Today we are going to look at some specific scriptures that reveal who we are once we are in Christ. Let’s start in John 10:10. Is is a very familiar scripture, and often quoted in our churches. it says, that the thief comes to kill, steal and destroy, but I (Jesus) have come that you have life, and that life more abundantly. it is easy to see that the enemy is the devil and his three fold purpose is evident in the first part of that verse. He is all about destroying lives, stealing and killing, from anyone, even unbelievers. Jesus purpose is clearly stated as well. He has come to bring life. The devil brings death and destruction. Jesus brings life, that is not just average, get by life, it is life in abundance. It is thriving and flourishing. So who are you? You are identified with Jesus, who is all about thriving and flourishing!

What we Think, What we Believe, What we Say

As we continue talking about our identity in Christ, we are going to move from what we think, and what we believe, to what we say.  we have recognized the importance of what we think.  The Bible says it so clearly, as we think, so we are.  What we believe is also so important.  We can say all the right things, but we have to believe them for them to come to pass.  Words on their own are not enough for us to know who we are in Christ.  As we read and discover in the Word who we are, we renew our mind to that new way of thinking.  As we meditate on the Word, we will begin to believe them in our core, on the inside of us, the real us!  Then as we believe them, we can speak them out and see them come into manifestation in our life.  Wen we remove an old identity and replace it with God’s identity, we are continuing the process of becoming more like Christ.  It is like taking off an old tattered garment, and then putting on the beautiful robe of righteousness that God has given us.  We are released from the old, and the new becomes reality in our life.  So as we continue this week, we are not only going to believe and think about what God says about us, I encourage you to say the same thing God says.  The Word of God is speaking.  it is revealing the mind and will and desires of God.  It is revealing our identity in Him.  The Word of God is alive and powerful.  It is active.  Take heed and listen to what it says.  When it goes out, it doesn’t return void without accomplishing what it was sent to do.  When God says it in His Word, we can say it with our mouth.  You can say the same thing God says about you!  That’s encouraging!

Full of the Holy Spirit

Next week is Rejoice 2013,our annual ladies conference at AGF. To all you fabulous ladies who have registered, and those of you that are planning to register, we want to say have a blessed conference….in every way. This years theme is designed to Thrive, and thriving really means to flourish. Knowing who you are in Christ is a great place to start when we want to thrive. God designed you to thrive! As you ladies set aside time this week to get refreshed and encouraged, and you men make it easy for the women in your life to come, a very productive way I know to thrive in life is to live full of the Spirit of God. I encourage you to be filled with the Holy Spirit, and keep being refilled. Joined up with the Holy Spirit, you can do and be and have much more than you could ever have on your own. That applies to strength, wisdom, energy, enthusiasm, joy, ability and skills. Even patience!! Your natural talents, gifts, and callings will increase because you are filled up with power from on high. Here is a great confession for today. Why not say this after me? My life is in Christ. I am empowered by the Holy Spirit to be the person who resembles God the Father. Others can follow me as I follow Christ. I am blessed to be a blessing, to my family, in my workplace and to the body of Christ. That’s encouraging, and my encouragement for you to know who you are in Christ today!
