If you had to choose power or no power, what would it be? There might be a few of you who should have been born before electricity, who love candles and lanterns, and sleeping under the stars by a fire, but most of us, like a light switch, a thermostat, and an engine on 4 wheels that gets us places quickly. It’s a no brainer for me. I like the power on! Jesus said that he would leave us a power source when He left the earth. He said the Holy Spirit would be our power source. If you don’t plug in to the power source, you get none of the benefits that power supplies. When we are connected to the power source, we get all the benefits of living in the fruit of the Spirit. That is where love, joy, peace, ….etc become evident of the power of the Holy Spirit working inside of us. Our action, our behavior and even our attitudes become different as we stay connected to the power. The closer we are to the branch, the more life we receive. The life source gets all the way out to the end of the branches, and that is where fruit is produced. Fruitful living also becomes a great way for the world to know that we are Christians. Love, joy, peace are evident in our lives, even if our circumstances are less than rosy. Our joy source is based on our circumstances, it is based on our relationship with Jesus. So power up! Keep plugged in. Don’t let your batteries lose their charge. We need more power!
