April 13 How is Your Health?

Don’t you love feeling good? Being healthy is wonderful. Health is something we take for granted until sickness knocks on our door. Hi, this is Dorette Schaal with your dailyeword. This week will be week 2 of emphasizing good health, and talking about healing. I’m so thankful for the Word of God which encourages us to live in divine health and for the example of Jesus, who, while he was on the earth who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the enemy. I love encouraging believers to rise above the worlds thought that sickness is inevitable or that old and sick are words that go together. We can’t get too much of God’s Word on healing! I encourage you, to believe for health and wholeness in your life.

How would you rate your health? There was a study done in the Reader’s Digest a few years back that had some remarkable statistics regarding the answer to that question. It concluded that the answer to that questions was a remarkable predictor of who will live longer. It said that those who say their health is poor will were more likely to die within the next four years than those who rate their health as excellent. The interesting aspect to the study was that every one of the respondents was in comparable health. Interesting indeed!

What we believe and what we say with our mouths has great affect on every part of our life! Proverbs 18:21 confirms this that life and death are in the power of the tongue. What we speak and believe affects our physical health. What we can do as believers is to have an abundance of God’s Word and His principles in our heart and our mouth, and changes can happen in our body and our immune system.

April 12 God Wants People Well

Even as I am writing these words, I’m sure many of you are thinking of great Christians that you know that have suffered through all kinds of sicknesses and maybe even died. We don’t have every answer, but what is good to remember is that Jesus came to give abundant life, and it is the devil who comes to kill, steal and destroy. (John 10:10) Praise God for the wisdom of godly doctors who practice medicine – it is proof that God will continue going to great lengths to have the body of Christ healthy. He made the biggest sacrifice and went to the greatest length of all with His son dying on the cross so we could have life in Him. Although the work was completed, there are still many who the devil inflicts with disease. That is the devil’s M.O. (method of operation) and he doesn’t give up just because we are nice, godly people. In fact, he often picks on us harder because he knows he will get many to believe that it is God’s will for them to be sick. With that kind of confusion going on in the body of Christ, he has a hay day. The saddest part of that whole scenario is that people often believe that and lose heart because God is made out to be the bad guy, and the giver of sickness. Jesus’ desire really is to have it be on earth as it is in heaven as He taught us to pray in the Lord’s Prayer. Heaven is disease free, and for Christians, the earth should be disease free as well.

April 11th No Tolerance for Pain

It would be easy to stay on the topic of healing forever, because God’s Word has so much to say about it. Once I get on a roll, I like to keep on rolling! So let’s keep talking about healing!

I had a great revelation some years ago when my oldest daughter and I were talking about pain tolerance. I’ve always been quite proud of the fact that I’m a pretty tough cookie and have a high tolerance for pain. She just mentioned that she wanted to have no pain tolerance, because she didn’t want to tolerate any pain in her life. The light bulb went off in my brain. Duh! Why tolerate pain? We really should be so in tune with our bodies that the moment anything tries to malfunction, we act on it immediately. We rebuke and resist pain immediately. With a high pain tolerance, what do we often do? We tolerate pain, we accept it, we live with it. As believers, we should immediately take our stand that Jesus took our pain for us, so we can live unlimited by physical pain. Jesus did the suffering for us, so we can enjoy a healthy life. In my case, my oldest child led me to the truth!

What have you been tolerating in your life? Have you made up your mind because something runs in your family that you will probably have it too? I want to challenge you, don’t tolerate pain. Don’t tolerate living in the fear of getting some disease that is common in your family. Stand against it, and choose to let your thoughts and your mouth line up with the belief in your heart that God is your healer, and that Jesus paid the price for you to walk in health.

April 10 In Us, To Us, Through Us

In Mark 16:19 and 20 right after Jesus gave “The Great Commission” it says that Jesus was taken up into heaven. Verse 20 says something astounding that shows immediate obedience gets results. It says… then the disciples went out and preached everywhere and the Lord worked with them and confirmed His Word by the signs that accompanied it. People got saved, healed and delivered because the disciples obeyed the message Jesus gave them. God places a high premium on obedience. He tells us to not only hear the message but to be doers as well.(James 1:22) So healing isn’t just so I can feel good, it is for others too! God wants us to obey His Word, not only so we get saved, healed and delivered, but so we can see as many as possible come into His Kingdom and be saved, healed and delivered. His great commission isn’t just a good suggestion, or even just a good idea. It is God’s will for us, that we go about, just like Jesus did, doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil. It might feel scary, but Jesus promised He would never leave us or forsake us. He will be with us. To me that means, you’ve got this! Its like God saying, go for it! We can do it, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and great things can happen in us, to us and through us!

April 9 The Spirit of the Lord is Upon Us

It is good to remember why Jesus came, and what He told us, his disciples, to do when He left. He came so that we can be in relationship with God, and live the abundant life. Abundant life includes living and walking in health. Then, He left us with instructions. The Great Commission describes perfectly what we are to be doing as believers. We are to go into all of the world and preach the gospel. He gave us the authority to use His name and go about doing good, just like He did. Luke 4:18,19 is not only what Jesus did on the earth, but it is now our scripture –

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon us, and He has anointed us to tell the good news to the poor, to proclaim freedom for prisoners, recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed and proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

Jesus came to destroy the enemy’s work, and it is up to us to enforce His victory. We can’t live nonchalantly, with the attitude whatever will be, will be. We are on this earth to protect and preserve it…..we are called the salt of the earth, and that is what salt does. We have to contend for good health! Just because healing is God’s will, doesn’t mean it will happen automatically. We have to believe that Jesus provided it for us, and then begin walking in it. Every day, we are getting stronger. Every day, our body is receiving the healing of the Lord. Every day, we walking toward divine health.

April 8 Call Your Body Well

If you are dealing with sickness or disease right now, a great revelation is one that Abraham understood. Even when it looked like the promise of God was not ever going to happen, he called those things, which were not, as though they were. Abraham became fully persuaded that God would do what He promised. He spoke the promise every time he said his name – I am Abraham, the father of many. He declared the truth, regardless of the circumstances. We can do the same…. let the weak say, I am strong….let the poor say, I am rich……let the sick say, I am well. I call my body well! If you notice, the Bible doesn’t say, let the weak say I feel strong, it says to say I am strong. The war that goes on in us is that when we don’t feel healed or rich, we don’t feel like we can say that we are. Remember what the Bible says, call those things that are not, like feeling sick, as though they are, healthy and well. The truth is the Word. Jesus said, my Words are truth in John 17:17. The alternate reality is that you might have contrary symptoms, but you are on the path to health. No weapon formed against you will prosper. I encourage you to call your body well.

April 7 God’s Word in Your Mouth

Let’s do some sickness prevention by keeping God’s Word with our mouths, today. Here are some good things to speak: Jesus wants me well. He made provision for me to walk in health all the days of my life. Jesus bore my sins and sicknesses in His body on the tree so that I can live an abundant life, free from sickness and disease. The stripes Jesus took on His back carried my sickness and my pain so I don’t have to carry them. God sent His Word and healed me. The same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead, lives within me and quickens (makes whole) my mortal body. I attend to God’s Word and incline my ears to His sayings. I keep them in the midst of my heart, for they are life and health to all my flesh. The life of God flows within me bringing healing to every fiber of my being. I am redeemed from the curse of the law. Jesus reversed the curse on my behalf. Every cell that does not promote life and health in my body is cut off from its life source. My immune system is strong, and my new blood line in Christ is free from sickness and disease. I resist and rebuke any symptoms that attack my body. I stand firm in the Word, declaring the promise that the Lord has blessed my food and water and has removed sickness from me. A long, healthy, fruitful life is mine because I am made new in Christ. Let’s believe it and walk in it today.

April 6 Healthy Living for Life

I am pretty sure that you are like me, and love feeling good! Being healthy is wonderful. Health is something we take for granted until sickness knocks on our door. Hi, this is Dorette Schaal with your dailyeword. This week we are going to talk about healing. I encourage you, to believe for health and wholeness in your life.

This week I will be emphasizing healthy living. It is so much better to prevent a sickness than to have to recover from one. I can hear you saying AMEN to that! Eat healthy food, and move your body, are two great keys for a long, healthy life. Another important key is remembering that the words we speak have the power of life and death. This is such a vital truth that works both negatively and positively. In Mark 11:23, Jesus said that you will have what you say. What are you saying. Believing and speaking the language of health has life long benefits. This week we’re going to talk about God’s Word being medicine and bringing health to our flesh. It is amazing how many scriptures in the Bible talk about healing. God sent His Word and healed them (Ps 107:20) Proverbs 4:22 says that God’s Word is life to those who find them and health to all their flesh. Is 53:4,5 says that by His stripes, we are healed. I Peter 2:24 says that by His stripes we WERE healed. It is a past tense done deal! Jesus made provision for healing as well as salvation when He died on the cross. Matt 9:5 Jesus asks the question, which is easier to forgive sins or heal a body? Jesus made it clear that both are covered by the cross. Just like we would faithfully take vitamins or medicine directed by the doctor, let’s daily take a dose of God’s Word to prevent sickness and live in health and wholeness.

Sunday April 5 Resurrection Day!

Happy Easter to you! On this beautiful resurrection day, we celebrate the victory that Jesus paid for with his blood. What a day of rejoicing for all mankind. God’s love was spilled for us. It was actually his blood that was spilled, but it demonstrated his love for us. His desire to make a way for us to be part of his family was the greatest act of love ever demonstrated. Because of Resurrection morning, we are now part of a family, a family with the greatest favor, passion and purpose on the earth, God’s own family. We definitely got the best end of this arrangement! His triumphant resurrection made provision for the body of Christ to be the beautiful body we have become. We, as Christ’s body on the earth, are His representatives, and we display His beauty as we fulfill our primary purpose on the earth to go and make disciples of all people. As we love God whole heartedly, and love people fervently, the beauty of Christ’s body is revealed. How beautiful is the body of Christ? Diverse, passionate, equipped to accomplish much for the kingdom of God. Jesus’ eyes were set on the prize, you and me. Let’s be committed to the purpose Jesus gave His life for. It was for people who were, and who are, worth the cost. It was a purpose worth dying for. What does Easter mean to us? These songs tell it all! What can was away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. The blood that Jesus shed for me, way up on Calvary, the blood that gives me strength from day to day, it will never lose it power! Up from the grave He arose! Worthy is the Lamb! Happy Easter to you!

April 4 The Weight of the World on Jesus

This week was Jesus’ destiny. The day that Jesus was born for was the day He would die on a cross, descend into hell, and beat the devil on his own turf. It’s hard to see the sweet baby Jesus and realize that He was born to die. In most all of the world, this is a sad time. As Christians we take this weekend to remember what Jesus did for us on the cross of Calvary. When we think about having an intimate relationship with Jesus, the reason we can is because Jesus was willing to take on the weight of the world, through the stripes across his back, and through the crucifixion. The proof of His love for us was the scars that he bore on his body. They were also proof of the resurrection. He bore the marks of death, but was dead no longer! Maybe you can use today to think about the hurting people around you. They have scars and wounds. God put you in their world to be His mouthpiece. Tell them about his love, and his healing power. Usually the very thing you have overcome in your life can be an avenue of blessing in someone else’s. One of my favorite verses is in II Cor 1:3 where it says that the very areas you have received comfort from the Lord, He will use you to comfort someone else. You really do become a minister of reconciliation to your world. That’s the power of the cross. That’s the power of knowing the love of God. That’s the power of Jesus.
