Do you want to be known as a woman (or a man) of the Word? You can be!

Do you want to be known as a woman (or a man) of the Word?  You can be!  All we have to do is – be a doer of what it says  I love it when someone says to me that they wish they knew the Word like I do.  What a compliment!  Whenever I forget to bring my Bible to some event, I always joke that I have it memorized, so I didn’t need to bring it along!  Wouldn’t that be great to have the Word so deeply imbedded in our life that it just spilled out! Truly what we put in is what will come out, because it is out of the abundance of your heart that your mouth will speak.  We need to put a guard over our heart, and only let in what we want to come out.  If we want to be “Women (or men) of the Word” a good thing to fill up on is – the Word.  In John chapter 1, it says that the “Word” became flesh and dwelt among us.  Jesus is the Word.  He and His Word are one.  To be a Word person, we really need to be a Jesus person!  I guess that makes us Jesus people!!!!  Let’s be authentic Jesus people, Him living in us, us living in Him! Let’s be people after God’s own heart by hearing and doing His Word, and acting like Jesus.

devoted God seekers and God followers

We are have just finished our Rejoice 2012 Ladies Conference with hundreds of women, worshipping God, and growing in the Word. Hi this is Dorette Schaal with an your daily eword. If you were there, thank you so much for coming.  One thing that makes women so wonderful is that they are worshippers! One of the things I enjoy most about being at our Rejoice Ladies Conference is hearing the beautiful voices of women blending together to magnify God. Be encouraged today with your dailyeword!

Monday

Women through the centuries have been committed, devoted God seekers and God followers, who are worshippers.  My husband always jokes about the fact that Jesus didn’t travel with a band (drummer, bass player, guitars, etc) but we do know that Jesus was followed around by a band of women!  Maybe they were known as the Spice Girls! We know at least some of the women following Jesus had access to some beautiful, fragrant spices! And women are known to spice things up!  We probably don’t want to be known as the Spice Girls, but women who love God know how to bring color and spice to life! Actually, any one who comes to know Christ goes from life in black and white, to full color. Life goes from bland and average to spicy and exceptional!  It’s part of receiving the abundant life that Jesus came to give.  Knowing Jesus makes life beautiful!  It doesn’t mean that trouble or persecution won’t come, but because we have this incredible source of strength on the inside, we can overcome anything that tries to over throw us! How amazing!  We go from living life half empty, to living in the overflow of the goodness of God.

What about the women in your life?  Do they amaze you by the things they do? Have they added life, color and spice to your world?  Are you encouraged by their words?  Do you feel nurtured in their presence?  Do you want to be more like them?  Do they give you strength?  I want you to do something big for the women in your life this week.  Why not tell them how wonderful they are.  Tell your mom, you appreciate her.  Let your sisters know how they have impacted your life.  Tell your daughters they are amazing and beautiful.  Let the women who surround you know that they bring life, beauty and wonder to your world.  Let’s always celebrate women!  Women really are wonderful!

Jesus received the sign of the Holy Spirit at his baptism

Jesus received the sign of the Holy Spirit at his baptism.  He was God, He was anointed, but he didn’t begin his ministry until he received the Holy Spirit.  Miracles began to flow through His life.  Why would we want to try to accomplish anything without the power of the Holy Spirit in our life? The Holy Spirit is important!  Jesus last words were of great importance! His last lecture was transformational! We should listen to his words and receive the Holy Spirit.  When Paul asked the people who were already Jesus followers if they were filled with the Holy Spirit, they said they had not even heard there is a Holy Spirit.  Does that sound like He was ignored, unnoticed, unappreciated, even forgotten, even within such a short time since the Holy Spirit first came and filled believers.  This should not be!  We need MORE, not less of the Holy Spirit! Let’s get it all! What part of you prays when you pray in tongues?  It is your spirit!   That is how the Holy Spirit prays through you as it says in Romans 8:26. You speak mysteries and edify yourselfSpeaking in tongues bypasses the unbelief that is in your brain! It allows us to talk directly to God.When we get to heaven, we will see perfectly and know perfectly because our minds will be completely renewed and will be able to pray perfectly. Until that time we need the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives and specifically the power of  speaking in tongues.  We need it now!!!

Do you know that God has so much more for you than you can even think, imagine or believe?

Do you know that God has so much more for you than you can even think, imagine or believe?  He really does.  Hi, this is Dorette Schaal with an encouraging word for kids today.  We are talking about some One very important this week, and He is the Holy Spirit.  We have so many benefits available to us as we are filled with the Holy Spirit.  So be encouraged today, and expect more as you serve Jesus today.  Here is your encouraging word for kids today.

Eword for Kids

When do we need power to witness for Jesus?  NOW!  The Bible tells us in Acts. 1:8 that we will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.  So when does the power come that we need?  It comes when we invite the Holy Spirit into our lives.

When do we need our faith strengthened to live our best life for Jesus?  NOW! The Bible tells us that we  build ourselves up on our most holy faith, by praying in the spirit in Jude 20.  So as we pray in the spirit after being filled, we strengthen and encourage our faith!

Jesus told his disciples not to do anything until they recieved the power of the Holy Spirit in Luke 24;49 and Acts 1:4-5.  Jesus told them to go tell the world, but before they could go, He wanted them to have power, through the infilling of the Holy Spirit.  He was equipping them for the work of the ministry. They needed the Holy Spirit NOW.  You and I need the Holy Spirit now!  We want to be ready and able to share Jesus with those who don’t know Him yet.  That is what we want to do, so that everyone get the opportunity to know Jesus.  Hope you are encouraged today!

God wants us to be filled with His Spirit

God wants us to be filled with His Spirit, even more than we do!  HOW MUCH MORE!!!!!  One of the coolest scriptures that talk about how much God wants us to be filled with His spirit is in  Luke 11:11-13.  I encourage you to read it and see what a wonderful Father we have and how much more he wants his children to have all the good gifts he has prepared for us, including the Holy Spirit.  The simple prerequisite to being filled with the Holy Spirit is to be born again, or saved.  You must be born again!  If you haven’t received the GIVER, you can’t receive the gift!  What does it take to be born again?    Romans 10:9,10 Tells us to 1) Confess with mouth, and 2)believe in heart.  We ask Jesus to come and be our boss, and then we turn our back on our old life, and live a new life for Him.  We become a new creation, old things are passed away, and all things are become new! Jesus calls you the temple of the Holy Spirit – He created you to house the Holy Spirit.  He created you to be filled with the presence of God!   It says in Eph 2:22 that In Him, you too are being built together to be a dwelling in which God lives by his spirit.  You are the temple of the Holy Spirit. This is the way God works.  He adds natural plus super and it equals supernatural!   Your body, becomes his temple when the Holy Spirit takes up residence.  Take God’s super and put it with your natural, and watch what happens!  Something super natural! When you are filled with the Holy Spirit, it is still your mouth, your lips, your vocal chords and your lungs! Plus the words the spirit gives – Supernaturally.  How encouraging!

Don’t you love the word More?

Don’t you love the word More?  We are talking about receiving more from God as we are filled with the Holy Spirit. Being filled with the Holy Spirit, will cause an incredibly positive change in our relationship with God.  The Word of God will come alive, and you will begin to see and understand things you never noticed before in the Word of GOD.  Revelation will begin to flow! God wants us to receive revelation knowledge and to understand things in the Word of God.  We need this NOW.  As we pray in the Holy Spirit, we build ourselves up on our most holy faith, as it says in Jude 20.  We are enabled to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit as it says in I Cor 14:14.  We can pray the perfect will of God, without earthly interference.  It brings us rest and refreshing to our spirits and our bodies, and helps us keep our tongue in line with the Word of God.  No man can tame the tongue, but with the help of the Spirit of God, we can speak words that uplift and edify. It is a beautiful avenue of worship as well, and a way to give thanks and magnify God.  One of the most unusual benefits of praying in the spirit is that it is a sign to unbelievers that God is a supernatural God.  I Cor 14:22 says that it is a sign to unbelievers that God is present and very real.  Instead of being concerned about offending unbelievers, we should be excited that it will be evidence to them that we serve a living, powerful, amazing GOD.  How encouraging is that!

Each year, I have ask God to give me a word for the year

Each year, I have ask God to give me a word for the year.  Last year’s word was joy, and boy did my joy get tested!!  More is my word for this year!  I was hoping it wouldn’t be more tears, more junk, more heartache!  Some of that has come, but I know the more God has for me has to do with more of what God has stored up for me.  He has treasures we haven’t even touched yet.  He has more blessings, more joy, more peace, more love for us than we could ever imagine.  Do you want more of God?  I sure do!  He wants more of us too! What does more mean?  It means added, extra, additional!  Whenever I think of more, I think of the scripture in Eph 3:20,   Immeasurably MORE than we could ever ask or imagine, according to His power at work within us!   In the amplified version more is translated superabundantly, far over and above all! If we want that superabundant, far and above MORE, we NEED HIS POWER at work within us!  We want that great power available, effective in its working as it says in James 5!  That is the kind of more I am believing for in my life. I hope you are encouraged to believe for more too!

We are talking about desiring more of God…

We are talking about desiring more of God, and how it led me to be filled with the Holy Spirit.  Continuing on from yesterday…….What was so cool is that search happened just before I met my future husband, Lynn,  who already was a spirit filled believer. He was raised in a church that believed in being spirit filled, and he had been filled with the spirit since he was a 7 year old.  God had a plan! I was reading about being spirit filled, visiting a church that was positive about  being spirit filled and I became more convinced that I wanted to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Once I was convinced, I went for it! I prayed and asked to be filled with the evidence of speaking in other tongues.  Being filled with the Holy Spirit changed my life forever.  It was a welcome addition to being part of God’s family.  The Holy Spirit in my life has enhanced my Christian walk in every way.  Because in Him, I have found the more I was looking for!  Since that time, my passion for God has only increased, and I am so thankful that what I prayed for has become such a vibrant part of my life.  Act 1:8 really is true, when you are filled with the Holy Spirit, you receive power  and you become a witness for Christ. That happens right where you are and around the world if we go or are sent.  One of the amazing benefits of being able to pray in the spirit is that we can pray for things that we don’t know about.  If we feel the unction to pray, we can pray in the spirit and pray for people around the world.  What an encouraging way to live!

Have you ever felt left out…

Intro

Have you ever felt left out, ignored, unnoticed, underappreciated or even forgotten?  I’m sure we have all felt that way on occasion.   Hi this is Dorette Schaal with an Encouraging Word for your day.  Maybe even today you had some of those thoughts!  God doesn’t want that for you!  He loves you and enfolds you into his family.  You are important to your family and to your church family.  You are important to God!  He has not forgotten you! There is someone I think that many of us have left out, ignored, under appreciate and perhaps have even forgotten, and He is the Holy Spirit. As we talk about the Holy Spirit this week, let’s give him the place of honor he deserves! Hope you enjoy your daily eword.

Monday:

As a teenager, who loved God, I had a sincere desire for more of God.   I got saved at VBS between kindergarten and first grade and from that time, I have loved God with all my heart.  I had a desire to serve him, and felt a call to serve God full time, and I truly desired all that God had for me.  I loved my Bible, loved being in church, and I loved worshipping God – and I still do! I wanted to know God as deeply as possible.  So I started looking for more!  In the church I was raised in, the Holy Spirit wasn’t totally left out or ignored, but He definitely was in a box, and anything outside of the box was certainly unacceptable. In fact, I heard that being filled with the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues was evil.  I knew in my spirit that couldn’t be right.  I knew the MORE that I wanted was to be filled with the Holy Spirit.  I knew in my spirit, that what I had read in the Bible about the Holy Spirit, and Him begin present at the beginning  of the New Testament church was going to be an important part of my Christian walk.  My longing for more led me on a search that ended with  becoming filled with the Holy Spirit. I looked for more and I found Him!

I love talking about the House of God

I love talking about the House of God. I have loved church all of my life.  When the church door swings open, I swing on in! I would be there all the time if I could!  I think I love church so much, because it has all of the elements I think you would find in heaven.   It is a place of beauty and order. Being a music lover, I love worship with instruments, with voices in choir, or praise and worship teams, all kinds of music that I’m sure is evident around the throne of God in heaven.  I love the reverence you feel in church, because people are getting fed the Word of God which is able to save their souls, it is like a feeding trough for faith. I love people being saved, filled with the Holy Spirit, sharing their faith, growing in God, and making disciples. I love seeing people become fruitful as they learn about taking dominion of the earth, operating under submission to the Father and exercising the authority that Jesus told us to operate in. I love church being a place of encouragement for the body, where people finding solutions and answers to life issues, and learn to have a prosperous soul. I especially love church when joy is abundant, jealousy is non existent, and where people feel like they’ve experienced heaven on earth.  Just like a plant that will only flourish when it is planted, so it is with our spiritual life.  We grow and flourish in life, when we are planted! We can do that when we are plabted in Church! I hope you love to put down roots, and are growing lasting fruit, in your life.  That is what I call heaven on earth!
