Faith Speaks For Kidz

One thing that you kids do naturally that us older people can learn from you is to enjoy even the small things. There is so much that we adults have seen and done that we can yawn at small moments of joy instead of jumping up and down and being glad! But we need you to re-teach us this lesson. Life is wonderful! Jesus came to give us life to the full, overflowing and abundantly. Even with bumps along the way, life can be a wonderful, beautiful ride. That doesn’t erase the fact that bad things can happen to good people, because we do live in a fallen world. We need to remember that we are richly blessed – just even by where we live. We have so many opportunities that many people around the world never get to experience. Probably all of you had 3 meals plus snacks yesterday – that’s something to be glad about. You probably had a soft bed to sleep on, computer access to all that we desire to be connected to, and someone to love you. Those are great things to be thankful for. So instead of thinking about all the things you don’t have, or wish you could have, being content is saying, I’m thankful for the place I am in right now. That’s a great place to be! Keep getting excited about little things, and always be content in the joy of the moment. Maybe we as adults will catch on!

We Are Believers part 6

Eword for Kidz

If you are anything like I was as a kid, you probably can’t wait to drive.  When ever I could, I would just go sit in the drivers seat of any car and pretend to drive, until the day at 15 years and 9 months old, I got my learners permit.  Boy was I happy!  My brother who is older and wiser (3 years to be exact) was determined I wouldn’t drive like a girl.  He taught me all the important things to know, and to this day, he is a great driver, and so am I!!!!  I really do like to drive….one of my uncles who lives in Switzerland calls me Doretti Andretti, after the famous race car driver. Okay, enough about me.   Cars and driving can give us a great lesson for life.  If we want to go anywhere in a car, you have to have a driver’s license.  Let’s pretend that is salvation.  Salvation is the key that starts your car.  You can turn the car on and just sit there in park and go nowhere.  But that is no fun.  You can put it in reverse, but you have to go slowly, and very cautiously.  You can leave it in neutral and just rev the engine, but you are not going anywhere.  To go somewhere we have to take off the parking brake put it in Drive.  When you are first learning, you go very slowly, taking it very easy and being very cautious.  There are times in life, when we have to do that  We don’t want to jump the gun, and get into a mess, or a wreck in life. We should always watch for road signs and places where danger might be lurking.  There are times when the road is wide open and you can go all the way up to the speed limit. But when the road gets twisty and turny (a newly invented word!), you had better slow down.  What does that mean for us? Life is like a ride in the car, we have to get in the car, turn it on, and then get in drive if we want to go anywhere.  For the Christian, if we want to do anything for God, we need to quit sitting around, and start moving.  God has great things for you in your life, and I know you’ll be a great car driver someday. I also believe that you will fulfill your purpose and destiny in life, because you’ll know how to drive wisely- putting your pedal to the metal…..Just kidding!  Really, please don’t do that, just make sure your rear is in gear!

Milestones and core strength part 6

EWord for Kids

Intro:

Hi, this is Dorette with an encouraging word for kids today.  I hope you know how important it is to ask Jesus to come into your life and be your Lord and Savior.  I know personally that living for God everyday of your life, for your whole life is the only way to live!  I want to encourage you today!

It is getting exciting, your school year is either done, or almost done and you are going to be moving on to the next grade.  Congratulations!  Do you know that in the Old Testament, God often told people to put markers or piles of rocks, or build an altar when and where something great happened?  We don’t do that anymore, but mile markers are still important to God.  Do you remember when you first gave your heart to Jesus, and asked Him to be your Lord and Savior?  Do you remember when you asked Him to forgive you of all your sins, so that you could be His child, and a part of His family?  That was an important day.  I remember when I did that as a six year old at a Vacation Bible School.  I had gone to church every Sunday since I was a baby, and on that day in June of 1968 in Mrs. Parrizato’s back yard Bible School, I gave my heart to Jesus.  That was a big mile marker for me.  The Bible says when you give your heart to Jesus, you become a new creation….that the old is gone and now we are all new on the inside.  So as important as it is that we keep learning and growing and move up to the next grade, the most important milestone you could ever cross is the one where you decide to follow God and live for Him.  Not only is it the most important, it is the biggest adventure you could ever choose.  Living for God is all about loving Him, loving others, and loving this wonderful abundant life that Jesus came to give.  So as you move up to the next grade, if you’ve never asked Jesus to be your Lord and Savior, you can do it right now.  Repeat this prayer after me, Dear Father, I come to you in Jesus name, and I ask you, to be my Lord and Savior, forgive me of my sins, I choose to follow you, and I will live for you, all the days of my life.  Thank you for receiving me, into Your Family.  In Jesus Name, AMEN.  Let me know if you prayed that for the first time.  Today is a mile marker day for you. Congratulations! If you already are born again, I’d love to hear from you too!

Excellence pt6 for kids

How is your attitude today?  Hi, this is Dorette Schaal with an encouraging word for kids today.  I bet your parents have asked you that question before.  All of my kids have had attitudes before! The greatest thing about being a human is that we can change our attitude.  I hope you end up have a great attitude when we are done with your daily eword for kids today!

Eword for Kids

Today I will be encouraging you to have excellent attitudes.  The Bible actually tells us to have the same attitude as Christ Jesus.  What kind of attitude do you think He has? He has confidence, but at the same time has the heart of a servant.  He is secure, and at the same time is willing to lay down His life for others.  It sounds like he has a self less attitude.  He cares more about others than he does his own self!  That should make us want to be more like Him.  Let’s wake up every day and determine that we will have the same attitude that Jesus has.  We won’t try to put ourselves first.  We won’t try to make everyone notice us.  We won’t try to make ourselves the center of the world!  We are important to God, but He didn’t make us the center of the world.  He is. Our world should revolve around him.  So why not today, check your attitude.  Does it look like the attitude Jesus has?  Does your attitude glorify God?  Does it make you helpful around your house?  Does it make you want to serve others?  Then you are on the right track!  Keep it up. Having an excellent attitude lets others see Jesus in you!

Do you know that God has so much more for you than you can even think, imagine or believe?

Do you know that God has so much more for you than you can even think, imagine or believe?  He really does.  Hi, this is Dorette Schaal with an encouraging word for kids today.  We are talking about some One very important this week, and He is the Holy Spirit.  We have so many benefits available to us as we are filled with the Holy Spirit.  So be encouraged today, and expect more as you serve Jesus today.  Here is your encouraging word for kids today.

Eword for Kids

When do we need power to witness for Jesus?  NOW!  The Bible tells us in Acts. 1:8 that we will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.  So when does the power come that we need?  It comes when we invite the Holy Spirit into our lives.

When do we need our faith strengthened to live our best life for Jesus?  NOW! The Bible tells us that we  build ourselves up on our most holy faith, by praying in the spirit in Jude 20.  So as we pray in the spirit after being filled, we strengthen and encourage our faith!

Jesus told his disciples not to do anything until they recieved the power of the Holy Spirit in Luke 24;49 and Acts 1:4-5.  Jesus told them to go tell the world, but before they could go, He wanted them to have power, through the infilling of the Holy Spirit.  He was equipping them for the work of the ministry. They needed the Holy Spirit NOW.  You and I need the Holy Spirit now!  We want to be ready and able to share Jesus with those who don’t know Him yet.  That is what we want to do, so that everyone get the opportunity to know Jesus.  Hope you are encouraged today!

Heavenly Peace

What is it about kidz that they just love to stay up all night?  My girls come home from an over-nighter with friends and they are so proud of the fact that they stayed up until 3:30 AM. I think young kids (preschool and younger) think that as soon as they go to bed the party begins.  For most of us, we have to get some great rest, because we are up early to get kidz off to school, or to teach an early morning Bible Study (why do I do that?) or to go work out before the day begins. Maybe you have animals to feed, or other chores to do before you head off for school. Life requires sleep to be able to function at our best the next day.  Sleepy people do crazy things.  They drive off the road, or they forget important things.  So while you’re young – take advantage of all the sleep you can get!  When you get older you’ll have lots of reasons to stay up later, and most of them are doing stuff that isn’t all fun, like catching up on laundry, doing dishes, or paying bills.  Peaceful sleep is really hard for some people.  They can’t shut their minds off, or their body clock is messed up and they will just lie in bed for hours, looking at the ceiling.  Sometimes it is because they are worried or anxious about something.  Sometimes there is no explanation.  My prayer is that you get in the habit of making restful sleep an important part of your life.  Make your bedroom a peaceful organized place to be.  Make it a habit to read your Bible and pray before you snuggle down underneath the covers.  Talk to God, cast your cares on Him (I Peter 5:7), let peace rule in your heart (Col3:15) and learn to sleep in heavenly peace.

Intro:

Hi This is Dorette Schaal with an encouraging word for kids today!  I hope you are learning that the fruit of the spirit can operate in you.  Because the Spirit of God lives inside of us once we accept Jesus into our heart, you can demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit.  I hope you are encouraged today.

I love the scriptures that talk about Jesus loving children, and calling them to His side.  He says that everyone should come to Him in childlike faith.  There is a big difference between being childish and child like.  You’ve probably been both!  There are times when you acted “childishly” when you didn’t get what you wanted and you pouted or threw a fit (adults sometimes do that too!) You’ve probably been “child like” too, when you look at the world and see wonder and excitement, and catch the important details that adults often miss. I have known people who get irritated when kids are around.  Aren’t you glad God is not that way?  He is fully good and a gentleman to the MAX.  He doesn’t have to try to be good, it is just who He is.  He doesn’t have to try to be gentle, gentleness is at the core of His being. Don’t you just love being around someone like that? Well, guess what? God loves hanging out with you too.  He doesn’t get embarrassed when you get excited about little things.  He wishes we adults would live with the same joy for life that you have.  Since we know God loves hanging out with you, why not do it more often.  Find a way to have that goodness and gentleness rub off on you. You’ve heard your parents say that who you hang around with is who you become.  I can tell you’re looking more like Jesus everyday!

Do you have a favorite teacher at school?

Do you have a favorite teacher at school?  By the time you graduate from High School, I’m sure you will be able to look back, and you will probably have several favorite teachers.  The best teacher of all, who has ever lived, has got to be Jesus.  He was exceptional about getting the lesson through to us.  He told us on several occasions, if we had ears, to listen up, He had an important message for us. He taught in unique ways, so that everyone would get it.  You might already know what is your personal learning style, which is the style of learning that really makes connecting with the lesson easier for you.  Jesus had that figured out too. Do you have your ears open?  Is your heart ready to receive?  Are you taking time to listen when He speaks to you?  The Old Testament book of Joel has a wonderful promise for you in chapter 2 verse 29.  It says that on sons and daughters, God will pour out His Spirit.  He will speak to you and tell you great and mighty things.  So listen up!  He will speak to you through His Word, by His Spirit, and through great godly teachers around you.  Keep your ears clean!  Hear what the best teacher of all is trying to get through to you!
