Share in His Fullness

Don’t you love that full feeling after eating a good meal? Totally satisfied, and comfortable. I’m sure we have all experienced over full too. That can be uncomfortable! Let’s go back to perfectly full! God’s fullness is in us and when we
know who we are in Christ, we are complete in HIM as it says in Col 2:10. The work Jesus did on the cross was complete. In fact, Jesus said, it is finished. The work He came to do was done, he finished the goal that God had set before him. I hope when we meet Jesus face to face, after we’ve completed our earth assignment that he will look at us and say, your work was done. It is finished all that I sent you to earth to do. If we want that to happen, we have to keep seeking His face, and continue to stay open to His will for our lives. While we are complete in Him, our job is not complete until we say hello to heaven and goodbye to planet earth. Are you letting the Lord speak to your heart for His goals for you this year? Let’s not just do our own thing. Let’s be ready to do what God wants! We don’t just live for ourselves, we are here on earth as God’s ambassadors to get things done! Let’s see His will completed on this earth. There are a lot of people who still need to know Jesus. Let God use your hands, your feet, your mouth, your life as a way to draw others to the foot of the cross.

God Chose You

Eph 1:5 is such a great verse to consider when we realize that God chose us, and wanted us as a part of His family. God’s goal, so to speak, in sending Jesus was so that we could be a part of His family. He wanted a way for us to be joined with Him, connected in relationship and totally confortable and welcome in His presence. God was the original goal setter! Because of who we are as His chosen ones, we can set our goals in line with His will. Instead of being distracted by the world’s system, we can align ourselves. It keeps our eyes above, on the things that really matter. I especially love this scripture, because we have adopted a son. In 2003 a little 2 ½ year old boy came to live with a house full of daughters. It has been an adventure, but in retrospect, we can see God’s goal for his little life was mapped out by our wonderful loving God. He knows that he has a first mom besides me, and that she couldn’t raise him, so God gave him to us. I remember when he was little asking if he came from my tummy, and I replied with not from my tummy, but from my heart! Certainly each of us, who God has adopted were birthed from His heart. What a loved and cherished place to be. It’s a place of belonging, where we can know that we are totally valued as His child. Because we are in that place of total and complete love, God’s heart for expanding His family is placed in us too. We can help others come into the kingdom, by living for Jesus full on!

Connecting with Wisdom

One of my goals in life is to be a life long learner. Because we are connected with God, as it says in I Cor 6:17, we should have an unquenchable appetite for more of Him, but also to know as much as possible about His Word. I hope you are hungry and thirst for more! If you are currently a student, can you believe half of the school year is over already? Do you ever stop to think about how much more you know now, then you did just 6 months ago? Day by day your mind is getting filled with information that will help you succeed in life. If you practice an instrument, or are involved in extra activities after your classes, you have probably found that if you practice on a regular basis you get better. (That’s the goal anyway!)
Well, that is a great principle to establish in your life as a student, because it continues after you are done with all of your schooling. The areas that you want to improve, need daily, continual attention. That’s why setting goals is so important. You want to be at a certain place by year’s end. You can begin right now to make your own life goals. They can be short term, or long term goals. Do you want to be a great humanitarian, or a writer or an author, or an athlete, or a great musician, or an entrepreneur? Start now to make that come to pass. Make a goal, make it easy to understand, keep it in front of you, and then go for it! Don’t ever think young people can’t accomplish much – many before you have, and you will too! Don’t ever think you are too old either! Start today!

Peaceful Achievers!

I love living a peaceful life. In Romans 5:1, it says because we are justified, we can life of peace with God. One way my natural life is more peaceful is by making lists! I am a firm believer in writing things down, and I even get satisfaction from checking off each item as the day goes by. Give yourself a real boost by putting a few things on your list you’ve already done, so you can check them off right away!!!! If improving your life is what we want to do, (I hope it is!) let’s make a clear plan to get us where we want to be. Life should be a peaceful, enjoyable experience with great rewards along the way. There can be joy in work as well! Matching your passion with your career is one way to experience that. I hope you love what you do.
I know there are many people who have had great aspirations in their life and have let life slip on by, because they never put action to what they wanted to accomplish. One thing to remember is that often the ones who accomplish the most are the ones with the most on their plates. We admire people who are thorough and pay attention to details and can accomplish their goals because they have a plan that works. So make today goal setting and re-evaluating time. Are you wasting time on unimportant things? Put the important things first – and make a simple list that you read daily, and then work toward accomplishing it. God’s has great dreams and desires for you – let’s make sure we fulfill them by following His leading, writing down our goals and desires, and seeing them come to pass

God’s Children Achieve Goals

Its near the end of January, and all of our talk about New Year’s resolutions is behind us now. Or so you thought! Hi, this is Dorette Schaal with your daily eword. Actually, I’m not nearly as fond of resolutions as I am about goal setting. We should make goal setting a part of our families and our lives. Setting goals is a spiritual discipline that makes sense. If we want to continually grow, is a process that will help get us from where we are to where we want to be. This week, we will talk about accomplishing what God has put in our heart, because we know who we are in Him. Here is your daily eword.
Monday
The Bible tells us in John 1:12 that we can know that we are God’s children. As His children, he wants us to succeed in life, and he gives us the valuable instruction to write the vision down and make it plain, so that those who read it can run with it. (Habakkuk 2:2) If we really want to thrive in our Christian walk, and keep on growing, setting goals is an important part of the process. From this scripture in Habukkuk, we can see that there are steps involved in the process.

So here are the steps for setting and accomplishing goals, one at a time.
1) Write it down – Typing is fine too! Just use you pen or keyboard to express what you want to accomplish. Small goals are as important as the large ones!
2) Make it plain – Keep it simple. Enough of life is complicated. Keep it easy to read and easy to run with.
3) Read it – Keep it in front of you – on your dashboard in your car, or on your mirror in your bathroom, or on your screen of your computer. Read it as a reminder and as an encouragement to yourself.
4) Run with it – Be a doer! Don’t just think about it, put it into action. Don’t put it off until tomorrow, begin today and do it now.
There is a great sense of accomplishment that comes when you achieve your goals. If you have failed before at finishing a goal, we all have!!!!, set it behind you and look ahead. We have all messed up, but we can brush ourselves off, and start again. Don’t let your set back, make you quit! Your set back, can be a set up for your come back!

Do the Word

This is a new year…..Are you ready for a new you? I hope you are doing some things that are healthy for your body, your mind and your spirit, because things you start now, will help you be disciplined in life later on. Ones who win in life are ones who put their trust in God and learn to do what His word says. Are you a doer of the word? You can be, and great changes can start in your life today!

Here are some things to make a commitment to do this year:
1. Why not read your Bible every day. Take a little time to read at least one chapter from Matthew, Mark, Luke or John (The Gospels), and then read one Proverb a day. On the 5th of the month, read the 5th chapter of Proverbs. In a year, you will be way wiser than you were last year!
2. How about getting more exercise. Turn off the TV and go outside for a walk, or go exercise. Run around with your kids, have fun, play ball, play tag, play with your dog, just play!
3. How about cutting out junk food. So many eat way to much junk, and each day you are building the foundation of health or disease in your life. Think life. Think long term, and think good healthy food.
4. How about praying for your friends to come to know Jesus. Invite them to church, let them know God loves them. Be a good witness and be a good friend. Tell others about Jesus. It is not only good for you, but the family of God can get bigger, and your friends can know God like you do.

Most of all, be a doer of the Word. Find ways to put the Bible into action. Do like it says, Love God and love others. Be a person who walks and lives by faith. This is your year to win!

Hope for Your Heart

Are you expecting God to do great things in your life? We are still talking today about the book Tell Your Heart to Beat Again, and EXPECTATION is such an important belief. Here are some things to expect in your life:
a. The zeal of the Lord to come to you as His Spirit pours out new Hope
b. The glory of God to come upon you.
c. Light to shine on your path
d. His presence to be manifested in a new way.
e. New vision to come to you
f. New joy to come to you
g. Abundant provision
h. The Favor of the Lord
i. Angels to encamp around about you
j. A light to shine in your prison
k. Your chains to fall off
l. Prison doors and gates to open
m. Enemies to fall
n. The word of the Lord to grow and be multiplied
The final paragraph in the book says this. “Expect your heart to get well. Expect the clouds of doubt to yield to the dawn of hope. Expect a new beginning in your life. Expect to enjoy life again. Expect to win. Expect!”

Jesus did come to heal the broken hearted as it says in Luke 4:18. Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. This is your time for victory. You can overcome.

You Can Hope Again

We are talking about the book, Tell Your Heart to Beat Again, and after hope is lost, Here are some ways to get it back1
1. Get busy Living – The authors brother got to watch an open heart surgery where they were having trouble restarting the man’s heart. The surgeon whispered in the patient’s ear….tell your heart to beat again. Immediately it started. Lesson learned….get back to living and breathing, there is life ahead of you.
2. Run with Hope – Hope is your anchor – Heb 6:19. Hebrews 12;12 tells us to strengthen our feeble knees. Feeble can be translated paralyzed. Fear paralyzes or immobilizes us. Hopelessness can paralyze. The Lord is your portion, even when life is like the smoldering ruins of Jerusalem, Jeremiah in Lamentations 3:21-24 says God’s faithfulness is new every morning, therefore I will put my hope in Him.
3. There is still music in you – Romans 4;18 In hope against hope, Abraham believed. There was absolutely no hope, yet Abraham hoped anyway. Dare to hope against your hopeless situation. Job, David, and Paul and Silas all found that God was still the One who gives songs in the night. There is music somewhere in your soul, don’t give up. Romans 8:28 is filled with hope. When we are called according to His purpose, God will work things out for our good. Work together is translated synergy from the Greek, and is the combined action of two or more who have a greater total effect than the sum of their individual effects. God can take all of your negatives and make the end product a positive.
4. Tell your heart to beat – Don’t make the storms of life your point of reference. Draw near to God, and keep drawing near. Rekindle the gifts of God inside you as it says in 2 Timothy 1:6-7. Don’t lets fears, phobias, or insecurity let you shut down the gifts of God in you. You have been given a spirit of love, power and discipline which encompasses the word sozo which is your complete salvation.
5. Life won’t always seem horrible – pass through the valley of Baca (weeping) and come to a place of healing and joy. (Psalm 84:6) Mount Horeb was horrible for Moses, but learned great lessons there that turned sorrow and hopelessness into hopefulness.
6. Our future begins now. Our Mt. Horeb can be a place of new beginnings. A desolate place becomes a place where God begins repairing and restoring you for your amazing future.
7. Expect! You will sing, you will dance, you will live , you will hope again!

A Healthy Heart

As much hope and new life that can be attached with something new, sometimes the cares of life can crush your hopes and dreams. Another one of my favorite books is a gift from my great friend who seems to pick the best books at the right moment. The book is called Tell Your Heart to Beat Again by Dutch Sheets, and it is another book that I have given to many people. The beauty of this book is that it is compact and easy to read, and it is filled with HOPE. If your own life hasn’t been affected by hope being dashed, definitely there is someone in your life who needs to hear these words, “let the whispers of God bring new hope to your soul”.

According to a study done in 1997 by the American Heart Association, people who experience a high level of despair have a much higher chance of developing atherosclerosis (the narrowing of arteries) than people who were optimistic. The verse in Proverbs 13:12 says that hope deferred makes the heart sick and this study proves that is true on a physical level. Having no hope is like a virus that can kill.

Hope deferred is a result of many sources….It doesn’t make you bad if you’ve experienced it, it makes you human. Loss, death, dreams shattered, rejection, betrayal, unkept promises, loosing a uphill battle, false accusations, business problems or failure, family issues, you name it…..the list can be endless of reasons to loose hope.
Tomorrow we will talk about some ways to get hope back.

Believe Right, Behave Right

The culmination of the book Shame off You, is in the final chapters when Alan Wright says that your Christian life is not a modification of the Old Covenant, it is totally new. Because of Jesus taking our place, it means that our role is not to keep the covenant, but to abide in the One who has already kept the covenant. (John 15). It is not up to us to measure up. It is not up to us to perform better or more perfectly. There is no sacrifice left to make. We could never do it perfectly, but Jesus already has! There is no chance that the New Covenant will fail. When we are IN CHRIST, we cannot be separated from the benefits of the covenant. It really was finished on the cross. We can’t add anything by our performance to His victory….it is complete. There is no striving left to do – just surrendering, with a heart gratitude. It is a done deal….no more shame on me. It is shame off of me. And it is shame off you! You do belong to the body of Christ. You have the potential to believe right, and when you do, you will behave right!
