Speak words that edify and bless

Have you ever labeled anyone else? We often put people in categories that confine them in a box. We can do that by how they look, what they drive, where they live, etc. We don’t like that when others do that to us, but too often, we feel justified in doing that to others. So maybe now might be a good time to scan your mind and remember how it felt when it happened to you. If you have injured others, offering an apology might set them free from your words about them. If your immediate comeback is, they did it first, now is the time to let it go. Forgiveness opens the door to better relationships. You can be free and can set others free by the words you speak. So let’s determine in our lives not to label others. Whether it is your kids, your family, associates, your neighbors or even strangers, let’s let our words be sweet. We can build into the lives of those around us when we speak words that edify and build. Once you have asked forgiveness to ones you might have harmed by labeling them, why not speak positive words over them. Jesus reversed the curse for us on the cross. Why not reverse some of those labels, by speaking words that edify and bless.
