See through God’s Eyes II Corinthians 5:16,17

One important area to develop is our prayer life, if we want to be more compassionate to people around us. During our time of connecting with God through prayer we can ask Him to impart into us His compassion for the lost and the hurting that we come in contact with. He wants His heart to be a part of who we are, so when we ask Him for more of His heart, He will liberally supply. Having a heart for the lost is essential for believers. They are part of our mission. Jesus told us to go into all the world and tell everyone, that He is answer. He is their supply, their source, everything they will ever need. When we have compassion flowing through us, we will look beyond the outward appearance, and see into the hearts. The Bible clearly tells us to regard no man according to the flesh, or our outward image. We have the ability through the love of God and the power of the Holy Spirit to see more deeply and to connect with the heart of the Father and be able to show compassion for those who are hurting. When we act like Jesus and show compassion, we are being the light, we are being His hands and feet, and most of all we are being obedient to God by loving like He does. So if you need more compassion in your life, ask God to help you, and then begin opening your eyes to those around you. It will be obvious that needs are everywhere, and you can start right where you are, loving like Jesus does.
