How amazing is the love of God. How wonderful for us to know that because of God’s great love, we are now called children of God. Probably most of you know that we have an adopted son. Going through the whole process of adoption really is complicated and expensive. I never had a clue before our experience, and ours was less complicated and less expensive than most adoptions. Still, it is nothing compared to what God did in sending His Son to earth in the form of a baby, to grow up to die for us and rise again, and defeat the enemy so that we could be a part of God’s family. We are God’s adopted sons and daughters!
All through the ages, since the beginning of time, when Adam and Eve fell in the garden, God had been planning a way to get His family back. It was all for love! How wide, how deep and expansive is God’s love for us. When we get a revelation of how much God loves us, I really believe that our own families will benefit. When we know how much we are loved, it makes it easy to love someone else. As parents, we want the best for our children. Think of it from God’s perspective. He wants the best for every one of his children, around the globe. Right now that is over 7 billion people. He doesn’t want any to die without knowing Him. As a parent, I have 5 kids, plus the bonus kids we get from our children finding a mate. My prayer for them is that they would always know God’s love and walk in His blessing. It’s quite manageable to pray for the 10 potential kids I will have, when we include their spouses. Think about God, with the weight of all humanity on His shoulders, caring for, loving, providing for all the ones who have joined His family. He’s got big shoulders, and we know He will care for us!
