“Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way I loved you, you love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other.”
I love to read this passage in The Message Bible. This is the essence of the Gospel! We love one another. When we do, people can tell that we love Jesus! We have all heard the songs that say all we need is love, or what the world needs now is love sweet love, or love is all you need, and if we are talking about the God kind of love, that certainly is all true. The love of God is enough! It is more than enough! So here is a tough question for you; when someone looks at you do you resemble a disciple of Jesus? Perhaps you think that how you act really shouldn’t be scrutinized by others, but guess what? Our lives are on display. On the big screen on your life, what are people watching? I know that feels like pressure to think your life is on display, but it is real life. What we can do is just be the person God has made you and called you to be. He has placed His love in your heart. You get to let it out, and live in His love, show His love, and give His love to others. It is a daily thing, 24/7, 365 days a year. It is the ultimate of surrender, because we choose to put our flesh under every day. We live the spirit filled life. We love. That’s how you look like Jesus!
