Say Yes to Commitment!

Lent is a good time to look at our disciple level and see how deep our personal commitment to Christ really is. Do we take the responsibility of being a Christians seriously? That may seem like an unusual question. It is important for us to realize that our personal level of commitment is up to us. No one else can do it for us. We should be serious about our daily Christian disciplines. God doesn’t have grandkids, we are His children. I love it that generationally we can serve God, but each generation has to make their own personal commitment to Christ. That’s why it is so vital for moms and dads to not only talk about their relationship with God, but most importantly to live it. Kids don’t do what you tell them to do, they do what you do. So as parents, you are setting the bar…..how high is the bar? Can you says this with me? I am a committed disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ. I wear His Name, and I bear His Name. I have determined to be as committed to Jesus as He is to me. I read His Word, I take time to communicate with Him, and give myself to Him daily. My responsibility is to live a life that is distinctly different from the world, in my thought life, my words and my actions. My body is God’s temple and I treat it like a gift. I walk by faith, live by faith, speak my faith and use my faith everyday so that God can do great things on the earth. I am God’s hands and feet to the world, and am available any time of any day to do what He asks of me. I will accomplish what God has set in my heart, because I have a teachable and obedient spirit. I discipline my body so that nothing has a hold over me. I am becoming the person God created me to be, and deepening my walk with the Lord, every day of my journey. My foundation is sure and my faith is secure. I take the responsibility of being a Christian seriously! Because seriously, I want to bring as many people to heaven with me as I possibly can. That is a great way to say yes to the will of God for you!
